They now own and manage nearly 5,000 homes across a variety of tenures and believe that providing affordable homes of quality is the very foundation of our society. Their services are diverse and add value to new and existing communities.
Mulliner House is the beginning of a very exciting chapter for SBHG. In their 42 year history this is the first time that the vast majority of their employees have been in the same building.
Rapport Solutions were appointed to manage the selection and appointment of suppliers and contractors and develop Shepherds Bush Housing Group’s relocation strategy.
SBHG relocated from four remote sites into one unified workplace and were keen to ensure that this relocation and consolidation opportunity was designed to support both their staff and residents. The resulting design created flexible working spaces and business functions across three floors of 20,000 sq/ft to support staff and resident integration.
Regular meetings with management, staff and residents during the design process allowed all requirements and wishes to be considered. This process lead to a significant investment in their ‘front of house’ space, ensuring that residents visiting the space were efficiently and sensitively managed. The front of house areas include private interview rooms, internet and telephone access for reporting faults, children’s play area and a bespoke therapy and wellbeing suite.
Staff enjoy their own break-out areas and the open plan working spaces have been designed to achieve better inter-team integration. Flexible meeting spaces cater for both formal gatherings and internal/external training requirements.
The fit out works included the installation of a disabled lift to service ground to lower ground space to support DDA regulations.
With a tightly managed budget a Detail and Build procurement route was used to ensure that all aspects of SBHG’s interior design met requirements and project costs were controlled throughout, along with construction quality.
